I need a guide voodoo doll

i can not seem to find one at all i've spent 6+ hours looking for one

You don't even have to look for them, just stand around and kill things as they come along. Regular Demons sometimes drop a very nice spellbook too, so even if it takes a while you might get lucky there.

At some point I had around 20 dolls just from those guys constantly attacking, it really shouldn't take long for one to show up.

They are used to summon wall of flesh. Your guide NPC must be alive in order to summon it. You go to hell and throw the doll into the lava and this summons the boss. Once the boss is killed it permently enables hardmode on your world.

That's strange, without even farming I normally get 3-5 from one 20 minute hell session.

I'm willing to bet hes exagerating when he says 6 hours of looking, its borderline impossible to spend 6 hours in hell without finding one.

The drop rate simply makes that nearly impossible to happen, especially since myself spending an hour in hell will often make me end up with around 4 of them

i die a little bit too much so that 6 hours is me going back to hell then dieing agian as soon as i see one

The only demons that drop guide voodoo dolls are voodoo demons.The voodoo demons are uncommon demons found in the underworld.They are easy to kill with the right weapons and always drop guide voodoo dolls that they hold from there talons
