Do biome keys drop in artificial biomes?

I've been afk farming in an artifical hallowed biome for over 5ish hours now. Not a single key. over 3k pixies and 1k and gastropods killed each. Just want to make sure they still drop in there or does it have to be in the natural biome.

yes they can drop

they can drop in artificial biomes, but make sure your artificial biome is big enough to be considered an actual biome.

Been farming 10 hours now and still no key. Put on a lucky horseshoe and got 3 lucky coins (which have around the same rarity as a biome key) from 2 pirate invasions to help a little.

Alternatively, does anyone just have a hallowed key I could have? Or a rainbow gun? I just want the achievement.

You could just download an all item world from the workshop. If RNG is screwing you that badly, then just do that lol.

I didn't want to resort to that and wanted to get it legitimately, but at this point, this is insane. I feel like they need to re-evaluate the rarity of these keys considering the contents of the chests are mostly useless.

The loot from the biome chests were originally like of the same tier of the "best stuff in the game" when they were added
but more was added and they very quickly became irrelevant, like the terrablade before the melee update
except terrablade got it's cost reduced at least (used to need 3 broken hero swords, and mothron didn't exist so you needed to get luck with drops from random enemies)
biome keys are unfortunately just kind of useless unless you get really lucky and get one by pure luck, even then the contents are just meh even if you open them as soon as possible

Coincidentally, I found a key for every other biome chest in the dungeon just doing a regular playthrough before deciding to finish up the achievements. In fact I found a total of 2 frost keys. But 10 hours of farming and not a single hallowed key... Guess it's true when they say RNG is against you when you're actually looking for something vs when you're not.

Anyways. A ""friend"" gave me a rainbow gun and thanks to the 10 hours of farming I have like 30 unicorn mounts so... I got the achievement. Gonna work on the angler quests now.
