MC may be 3D but the game is garbage. All you get to do is dig and build and fight a handnfull of monsters and a couple bosses. YOu can experience nearly everythign MC has to offer ina handful a couple fo days. MC gets much better with mods but it's a hassle to keep mods up to date. Playing modded MC can be fun too. And that is the only thing that MC has going for it.
Terraria doesn't need mods. It's an all inclusive video game. Terraria will take weeks to complete. You have dozens of moneters and bosses to fight. The bosses are difficult and each as their own abilities and patterns . You're not going to walk up to a boss and just hack and slash it a few times to win. It takes skill and practice to beat bosses.
Content:
Terraria has around 370 mobs.
Minecraft has about 35 mobs.
Terraria has around 3000 items (as of 1.3).
Minecraft has around 450 items (as of 1.8.1).
Terraria has 21 bosses (including xbox and mobile bosses).
Minecraft has 3 bosses, The Wither, The Ender Dragon, and the Elder Guardian.
Orignality In content:
(8/10) Terraria.
(6/10) Minecraft.
Gameplay:
Terraria:
Terraria is good for the player who loves a challenge, and likes to fight and explore,
It takes quite a long time to complete (about a week or two (playing everyday)), and it is replayable for almost ever.
Minecraft:
Minecraft is good for younger players or builders, its not difficult so getting started is easy, although its almost to easy, you get a stone sword and your set, anything more is overkill.
Oringnality In Gameplay:
(10/10) Terraria.
(9/10) Minecraft.
Community:
Terraria:
Terraria has an 'ok' community the only problem I have with it is the cheaters and the people who ask the same question thats been awnsered 15 million frickin' times (*cough cough* whn is 1.3 plz tel meh??!??!?!?11?1!oneone!! *cough cough*)
Minecraft:
Its ♥♥♥♥, nuff said...
Overall I'd give Minecraft a 5/10 and terraria a 9/10
end result is I used to play both games everyday, now I only play Terraria
I'm on board with MC getting a 5/10 and T a 9/10 (more content plz, yum yum! I'm patient, it'll be good) MC could just be more, so much more, but it personally is just a really dry "The Sims and Real Life" social game to me, and again I'd rather play the sims, or if I had the money infintiy, or amiibo or skylanders. MC has just been passed by so fast in tech and gameplay that with its sale and changes and demands by the creator and new owner... it's a mess to me.
It's like the beanie babies of the internet to me, dumb. Sure, it's $$$ but dumb. I'd rather watch a Terraria movie. Not a Battleship movie, not a Tetris movie, not a Minecraft movie.
Bigger is better I guess.
