Rod of Discord: Too rare or too common?
I've heard of people saying the Rod of Discord is too rare, but also others saying it's too common. If you'd like you can say since when you got that pesky rod, or if you had a farm, if you had a Rod farm, let me know about how you made it, because I would love to get some support for the Rod too!

I honestly think it is just way too rare. BLEGH TO DAT DROP RARITY!

Well it's the only item that allows you to teleport freely. I got one and it's not that OP. You take 50-100 dmg every time you teleport.

Um no you don't. You only take damage if you teleport before the timer runs out. Everytime you teleport, a 7 second timer starts where if you teleport you take damage. So you can teleport only every 7 seconds.

Yes... When i teleport i take damage XD Not when the timer runs out.

I think it's too rare, and should be just a LITTLE bit more common. But Slime Staff.... ugh. Make it a rare drop, not the rarest item in game! I had a slime farm with 3 slimes spawning and dieing automatically, and only got 1 staff after about 8 hours, as well as about 18 banners.

I actually got mine last week. Set up a semi-farm (it's not really a farm since it's still raw and made out of the terrain but nevertheless working fine aside from the occasional Enchanted Sword enemies) and managed to get 3 of them in about 4 days. Seriously, if it were a more efficient farm it would've worked better, but I'm just too lazy to construct one.

Obviously you don't use enough Slime Statues, 'cause I know someone with a farm that could give me a full stack of gel in a minute. Tested it out myself. Said farm has managed to produce 8 Slime Staffs in less than 12 hours I believe. Pretty amazing.

I wasn't nessescarily doing everything I possibly could do to get one. I just wanted one since I was playing as a Summoner on a multiplayer server, but never got one till hardmode. Beside, I didn't use 8 worlds to get all the statues. I made it with 12 stone bricks, 2 dart traps and bit of wire. I don't really care what you think, I got one with 1% effort.

I built a farm with TIMERS. It took me 30 minutes to get a Slime Staff for me AND my friend who was there at the time.

I've never had a single Rod of Discord in my life.

Ever played Patapon 3 on the PSP?
It takes 10 hours to max most class skills, and more than that if you actually wanna complete the set skills.
Then it takes even more than 40 hours if you actually wanna get to a point where you can one-shot the last boss.
And then more than 100 hours if you wanna get the best loadout in the game, just so you can kill all the DLC bosses.
True story.

My first time in hardmode, I recently went adventuring in the Underground Hallow. Killed a couple of those dumb pink things and got it. I guess I was lucky or something. x3

Its too common. Once i was in a world where me and my friend found a rod of discord in the same session. About only 30 mins were between my and his findings :p
Finding rod of discords is cheese of cake not like that super rare nymph banners lol ...

edit : nope @ nerevar its really is common. I mean people are sitting on piles of rod of discords its ridiculous.
Im sure anyone with a gametime of about 50+ hours should at least have 1 or 2 rods already!

Discussions Rules and Guidelines
