which boots are the fastest and most useful? and can you order them in usefulness, thank you :)

fastest?
frostspark boots or lightning boots. though frostspark boots are faster on ice. but that doesnt matter because they are not as fast as either on asphalt there.
most useful?
I guess frostspark boots. though lava waders get an honorable mention, those things make mining hellstone a piece of cake. also WoF can be fought without bridges or potions.

On a less rude note, the Frostspark Boots are, hands down, the most useful pair of speed boosting boots you'll ever find. None of them, however, are truly useless, as even though the Hermes/Flurry Boots don't bring in flight, the ground-based speed boost they give still makes them worthwhile.

In order of Most to Least useful (imo):

1. Frostspark Boots
   
2. Lava Waders
   
3. Lightning Boots
   
4. Obsidian Water Walking Boots (that's a mouthful, ain't it?)
   
5. Spectre Boots
   
6. Rocket Boots (WOO, FLYING, FINALLY!)
   
7. Hermes/Flurry Boots (functionally identical)
   
8. Water Walking Boots (Relatively situational)
   
9. Ice Skates (Extremely situational)

sounds about right, though you missed specter boots and rocket boots.

Fixed it.

Also, if you've already got wings, keep the Spectre Boots (or better) you've got on anyway. They give a noticable boost to Flight Time, so you'll get farther with them on and hit the ground moving faster than you would without them.
