Terraria's moon has a ring around it?
Started a new character on an old pre-hard map and noticed hey that moon has a ring around it.

has it always been so?

There are three different styles of the moon. When a world is generated, one permanent, random moon style is assigned to it.

I know this is super late, but is there a way to change the moon style in your world through something like tEdit? I got assigned the funky pink moon and it gives me a headache to look at lol

Yes! I'm actually doing that right now, and happened to come across this thread looking for references of the different moons. There is an option in TEdit to change the type of moon you have.
