For example. Without rain Ice Golems won't spawn. This means you wont be able to attain the hardmode Frost Armor and Frostwings.
Without rain you would be missing out on all this gear[terraria.gamepedia.com]. Not to mention increased fishing bonus amonst other things.
I feel spawn rates are too low as it is. I welcome the rain.
Edit: Made a correction. Thank you Over8001 for bringing me up to speed.
It's built into TShock and not a plug-in.
Frost armor can no longer be obtained at the beginning of hardmode, it requires Hallowed bars to craft it now.
I never realized they changed it in 1.2. I've been playing my op character with all the end game gear for so long that I haven't done a play through to find that out, When they changed it I already had better gear for quite some time.
We still need rain/blizzard in order for the Ice Golems to spawn to get the Frost core though.
Anyhow, thank you for that correction. I will edit my other post.
The nimbus rod is a must.
