terraria for the mac.
Maybe best post on here
oops typo :P
However, it went an entirely different direction with linear progression, boss fights and Action RPG gameplay while Minecraft was still unsure whether it wanted to be a sandbox builder or an open-world RPG. When Terraria became popular, MC leaned further and further in the direction Terraria had gone in and copied some mechanics. I suppose it is only fair, since Terraria borrowed plenty of ideas from MC.
I haven't played the game for three years until now, but this is how I remember things.
Opinion time: MC's implementation of RPG mechanics is grindy and unrewarding, and I had a lot more fun when the game was solely about building expansive projects unhindered by the need to gather resources. I'm glad there's a creative mode, because while Minecraft is one of the best sandboxes there is, I feel that Terraria is a better game.
hes was making a joke :T
Just to make clear I play a lot of both but I've played minecraft for 3/4 years and terraria for 1 year so I'm not an expert on Terraria, so I'll put here what I think of Minecraft and if someone out there is an expert on Terraria, please share what you think of it.
Minecraft today is not focused on anything, even thought many of you may say "it's a survival game, that's all".
In Minecraft today you are able to, well, play survival of course, but also you are able to creative worlds where you can build anything you want without having to get theses items, and even more, Minecraft allows you to install mods (modifications made in the minecraft code) or make your own mods, or play on a server which make theses modifications in the code only for the server-side so you don't have to install anything.
Also, Minecraft has a great community in general. I know that some of you may think "ugh but I was in a server and theses guys just rage on me" but this is simply a guy raging on a server and happens in every single game. If you see the Minecraft forum, the youtubers, or r/minecraft (reddit) you'll see that you can find a lot of useful stuff and help.
Also probably when I said "youtuber" you just thought about that guy SkyDoesMinecraft. I'm not talking about him anyways, but on guys like xisumavoid which shows awesome and useful redstone mechanisms and "minecraft science" videos explaining a bit about how the game works.
It's seriously a lot to say about it but I'll type just that. If you have any questions about Minecraft you can ask me and I'll be sure to answer you.
