Is Terraria a rip-off of Minecraft?

So, I was playing Minecraft at 8:47 PM (I barely ever do now after i got Terraria.) Then out of nowhere this guy calls me a hacker after beating him in a fight. I then say no wonder i don't play minecraft anymore (Probably because so many people start flamewars in servers.) Then he was like Seriously Terraria? Then I was like yes, Terraria. Then he said (imagine him doing this in a very critical voice) " Terraria is a rip-off of Minecraft." I then got in a huge argument (by which he was actually fighting dirty in this flame.) He said "Everything in Terraria is an EXACT rip-off of Minecraft.
Crafting= Minecraft
Armour= Minecraft
Building= Minecraft (He also said Terraria wasn't innovated)
Then I say, there are a lot of games that craft, have different armour, and you can build, so why do you pick on TERRARIA out of all those games. So this raises the question I have today: Is Terraria a rip-off of Minecraft (He said it's a fact it is but I say it's an opinion) Also, have a nice day, night, or evening whereever you are in the world!!!

Whoops i meant to say wherever. Well, as stated I think Terraria isn't a rip-off of Minecraft.

terraria is completely different to minecraft minecraft is just building I mean if you play survivival minecraft you may aswell just go play terraria it's simply way better terraria has heaps of bosses minecraft has an ender dragon and a wither and i don't know anyone that actually likes the ender dragon or the wither but I must admit Minecraft has much better pvp simply because it's 3d while terraria is 2d. terraria is all about action and exploring while minecraft is a building game but the pvp in minecraft is still pretty good

Eh, excuse me sir, but I believe that it is the other way around. Play both games, and follow the plot, and have fun while doing so!

i have terraira on COM, and ios, and ive got MC on com, ios AND playstation, and ive had lots o fun with both,

both terraria and MC are survival, the differences are that one is a fps/3d and the other is 2d/ 3rd person
each have different things to do in them, and different ways to have fun :D
