Peoples who say "this game is better than this!" is pretty stupid indeed.. you can say "I think minecraft is better than terraria" (if you have played both of them) since thats an opinion but you cannot make that an fact.
Saying "minecraft is better than terria and terria sucks!" makes you look like an idiot if you dont explain why terraria is bad..and why you think so..
But in generel i dislike when peoples have an opinion on how "bad" an game is if they havent played it since how do they know?
Its usually fanboys as when they see another game others like they immediately have to "defend their game" for no reason.
I think alot of kids play minecraft and maybe thats why some peoples act that way since they are very young and stupid..
In my opinion minecraft lacks alot of content.. if you are not into building stuff then honestly its not much to do.
In terraria there is alot of do outside building, also its very fun and rewarding to explore.
And the combat is very enjoyable aswell.. Alot of intresting weapons and items aswell!
Enemies are a threat and there are alot of different types of enemies.
Thought i had an problem in terraria where i didnt understand what im supposed to be doing often.. i dislike having to visit the wiki when im stuck instead of the game explaining it.
MInecraft has an huge problem that there isnt much to do outside of building.. combat is very weak, survival is very easy, just make an small farm and an dirt house and you are pretty much safe.
So few types of enemies there aswell..
So one of the few things minecraft has witch is better than terraria is the building.
I still like minecraft more thought as much as someone probably will hate on me for saying that.
I much prefer to be in 3D as i prefer being able to look around and move in first person.
Its just that every time i play it i always think "this should have been improved.."
Everything from combat to more intresting npc's, more intresting things to explore and so on.
But i do agree in generel with you, if you dont own an game and havent played it, then dont complain how bad it is as you dont know!
To be honest... dont complain about how bad an game is anyway if you are not going to explain why you think it is bad since if you dont telll why it is bad then its just pointless to say it as none cares.

Terraria rewards those that explore and fight more than minecraft can ever do. At most you can get some medicore discs and some resource that you blow over within a minute or two, depending if you want to tediously enchant it so it will last that extra minute.
Minecraft has it's charms but its stale as can be and the community is toxic. There are a stack of fixes/changes it would need to breathe life back in and the mojang/microsoft have zero interest in ever doing.
Terraria however is quite fun now and looking forward to that next update which will add much more to it.
Idiots will claim anything with blocks to be a "minecraft ripoff" because they believe minecraft invented blocks or something.

Each game has its strengths and weaknesses.
Who cares? MC improved upon it substantially.
@The Plague Doctor, What you said about the ability to mod Minecraft makes it far superior. that would probably be true if there are any mods that even come close to the non-modded Terraria.
However, I do hope they add mod support to Terraria, it would be even better than it already is. It would probably bring me back to modding again.
Terraria wins hands down on combat (and graphics). Minecraft is better for building though. Fact that it's 3D and you can see much more make MC better for building.
I used to play loads of MC. Became older and really bored with all 10y olds. Besides, MC is very boring when playing alone. Then i got Terraria for 80% off. Best 2 bucks i spend in my life lol. Terraria is also a lot more fun playing alone. Works great when downloading something with a horrible I-net connection since it doesn't slow anything down in single player. Meanwhile MC has trouble staying above 15 FPS.
Also MC is made in Java. If they starting transferring it to Unity or C++/C# Minecrafts performance could improve quite a bit. Java was great to start with and it's easy for modders. But horrible once MC became bigger.
