Some people have found him floating on top of the water. A lot of the time he can be found lying down (yes, lying down) and he is smaller than the other NPCs so you may really need to look for him. He'll even appear on an Ebonsand/Crimsand beach.
That could be. Once NPCs move into the houses you build for them, they will vacate when Corruption and Crimson get too close.
On the other hand, when I found the Angler NPC in my primary world, much of the beach he was sleeping on had been claimed by the Crimson. I dunno, maybe I am missing something. Try purifying your beaches and see if that helps.
I hadn't fished at all before I found the Angler NPC in my primary world.
Fun fact though, if you kill the angler when he is sleeping he will die the same way a wraith does, he poofs and hisses the same way a wraith does when it dies.
Yeah, just be careful about doing that. If you somehow kill the Mechanic NPC before freeing her, she won't come back. The same may be true for the Angler NPC.
Anyway, my apologies for derailing the thread. It seems the OP won't have as tough a time finding their Angler NPC as was initially thought after all. Good luck, OP.
