New farm tips for easy silver/gold/platinum
Now that the goldfish farm process has been unfortunately patched, I am looking for a new way to farm easy coins, as easy as selling goldfish for a silver coin each. Does anyone have those kind of ideas? How do you farm your easy coins? Share below please!

For real, though, if you want to make some easy cash, get a suit of Spooky Armor, a Tempest Staff, and some Summoner Accessories, then make an enormous box in the Underground Crimson/Corruption or the Underground Hallow.

Urchin has a point, however, as the Frost Moon can be quite profitable if you get lucky. The Pumpkin Moon is what I've found to be the most rewarding, both in direct coinage and in the amount of stuff that drops.

Box of what? What must it contain in the box? And can I just corrupt some grass ground with the clementator thing?

I just got back to playing today, like i never played in such a long time, how and when does this "frost moon" occur??

The best way to earn QUICK money that I know of is to make a huge box in the jungle temple, put on Tiki Armor, Lucky Coin, and Slime Staff, and let the slimes repeadedly do one damage to the mobs, grinding tons of gold coins in minutes.

What do you mean by box? And what should it contain?

Sorry, I phrased poorly. hollow out the inside of the temple some, then make a player sized box inside of that floating 20 or so blocks up. Go into the box and spawn the slimes under you.
one great working goldfish method i found on the guide section of terraria (on steam) was to gather tons of sand (like, a blow up your desert amount) and turn it to glass, then bottles, then fill all those up with water. be sure to have a near empty inventory because this takes a ton of space.
next step is to wire all your goldfish statues to a timer.(preferably 1 second) then use your bug-net to catch all the goldfish. pretty much, all you have to do then is make fishbowls and sell them. (they go for 20 silver each)
this should work unless the goldfish method you said didnt work anymore in your original post was this.

The not working result was when I would just capture them and sell merchants the fish instead of the bowl, but i'll give it a try! thanks!

If you want some variety, and not just doing "best tips" all the time, then I find it fun to make obsidian skulls for sale. Make an obsidian farm then make a lot of skulls and sell them.

Well I'm not really expecting much, i'm just looking for some new ways to farm things or easier ways to obtain certain items. And thank you for your farming solution!

If you don't know about the Frost Moon, then you've missed a lot of updates. I'd recommend familiarizing yourself with the new stuff before doing anything else, especially if you haven't played since 1.2. Here's a list of all the updates, and you can gauge which ones to look at based on the dates:

http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Version_history

A lot of farming methods have been nerfed since 1.2 (since Redigit apparently wants the game to be as tedious as possible, but I digress), so almost none of the money farms people used before 1.2 work anymore. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the obsidian generator. However, a few new farming techniques were introduced, like Jellyfish Statues.

No, Frost Moon is not only Christmas, although it's Christmas-themed. It can be fought at any time of the year, and is currently the final step in the game's progression, basically the "last boss".

Like Dr. McWeazel, though, I find the Pumpkin Moon, the step just before the Frost Moon, to be most profitable, not in the least because its drops have a much higher drop rate than the FM's. It's slightly easier than FM, too, although both are still pretty end-game. How far are you in the game right now? Have you played since 1.2 came out?

Hit the Dungeon any difficulty is fine, after you've killed Skeletron start searching the entire Dungeon for Jellyfish Statues once you've gotten about 3 or more if you prefer make a farm with a tiny pool of lava setup the Jelly Statues and let them die. Every Jelly Fish necklace they drop is worth 1 Gold some silver and copper and as an added bonus you can also sell the glow sticks they drop.
