Question about angler quests
I read in the wiki certain things like the fin wings need first a set amounth of fish quests completed before they are obtainable. Fin wings for example need hardmode and 10. quest completed to get a drop chance for it. Anyone know how exactly are quests counted? Are they bound to each avatar or are they counted per world ? For example if i use an old avatar which completed already 40 quests and visit a friend on his world do those quests count or does it get reset?
Which i basically mean do i have to fish new in every new world i visit and get the same starting rewards like angler hat at 20. quest ? Or do i only have to do the quests once per avatar ?
Its kinda confusing sometimes i get double angler hats although the current hero already got one x_x

Anyone got experience with fishing ?

I think it's bound to the world, although I've never actually went out and tested it... perhaps it's a combination of world and character, so then if you do 20 quests on world x with character x, and then return to world x as character y and go do another 20 quests, it'll give the hat twice. But I've never tested it, so I can't be certain.

I do know that I've never seen duplicate fishing set parts on my main world with my main character, although strangely enough I have been given 3 golden fishing rods, all spaced a decent number of quests apart. I'm not sure if it repeats every 50, but between the rods I didn't get more fishing outfit parts.

I'd hate to think that the devs mad eit possible to onyl get one full set of fishing equipment on a single world, which is why I suggested this dual connection theory.

golden fish rod is a different story it can be dropped by two ways. It 100% drops at 50. quest completed or it has a very low chance to drop at any completed quest. But i speak more about the standard quests like 20., angler hat and 30. anlger armor etc.
Since atm im fishing and i got with one hero the angler hat two times. Which is really sad. I try to progress and dont get stuff double :(

Actually i try to avoid getting the angler armor set. But apparently now i got the angler hat twice x_x
Anyone got tips how to avoid that happening ?

Number of quests are tied to your character, not the world itself. You could make a small world and go find him for a quest finish it quickly and swap to another small world if you're impatient on waiting for the day/night cycle.

Quests completed are tied to the character, as Hope said. According to the wiki, the Angler suit pieces are only awarded after set numbers of quests (and I've only ever gotten one of each per character, despite doing hundreds of quests), but it's conceivable that they also have a small chance of being awarded again after you first get them, like the Golden Fishing Rod. There's no way to influence what you get, unfortunately, unless you were to save and then keep resetting the game with Task Manager until you got the reward you wanted (I haven't tested this myself, though).

What I usually do when I want to complete a lot of quests quickly is open a server, set the time to midnight, wait until dawn, do a quest, and then set the time to midnight again. The quest changes every day at dawn (4:30 by the game's clock), although not if you just set the time to dawn, which is why you have to set it to midnight and then wait the 4 and a half minutes until dawn arrives. Still much faster than waiting 24 minutes for the next day to come.
