Screen zoomed out all of a sudden
I went into full screen mode, and then decided to go back to windowed, and when I did it made my game look like it was zoomed out. I tried changing the resolution and for some reason it didn't do anything, it didn't even change the resolution. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and nothing happened. Can someone please help, it's so tiny that it's become unplayable, I';m playing on a big screen and it's so far out.

If I remember correctly, windowed mode will base the resolution based on the size of the window and the screen's resolution. You could change this by making the window smaller on your screen, or switching back to fullscreen mode.

I'm not entirely sure if this accurate information, though. Hopefully testing it will work out for you, or someone else here can confirm or refute this information. Hopefully this won't cause any problems, and good luck with finding a solution!

Whether I'm in full screen or windowed it's really zoomed out. Do I have to exit the game for the resolution to take effect? And does it change the resolution if I maximize (not full screen) the window?

So far nothing has worked. It's really frustrating.

Edit: Actually the resolution won't change. I will click it, nothing happens. I tried clicking it and then save and exit and restarting and the resolution goes back to the maximum.

Hmm... I'm really not sure. I've never really messed with this, although I did notice the difference when I got a newer computer. I hated the smaller size of everything at first, but I eventually adapted. Now that I have, I actually find it kind of nice to have that extra space.

However,t hat's me. You want everything to be larger on your screen again.

If changing the resolution, and then restarting the game doesn't work, try reducing the resolution of your desktop on your computer. That may have an impact on it, but I can't say for certain. It'll also change the screen size for everythign else too, but it might give you a tempoary, although kind of annoying, method to solve your problem.

Again, I can't guaruntee what I'm saying isn't correct. I could be totally wrong here, as I have little experience in the matter. Good luck with your solution!

Edit: I saw your edit that occured while i was typing this response. That non changing resolution might be a real issue...

I don't have any issues with any other games. My computer can run 100 copies of this game. I'm gonna try changing the desktop resolution thing, and if that doesn't work I'm going to try to delete ALL the data associated with the game. Do you know where I can find the data that is left behind when you uninstall through Steam? It still had my world and character when I uninstalled before, maybe getting rid of everything will fix it.

That's under my documents, my games, terraria... but I doubt that'll do it. I wish I could be of more help, but sadly I have no experience with this topic. Hopefully someone else around the forums who has had this issue can be of more use.

I didn't realize you have to change resolution, change to Windowed, then change back to Fullscreen for the resolution change to take effect? Anyway, it seems if I do it that way I'm able to change the resolution so I guess that's good enough for me.

I wish I knew that before I deleted my character lols. Oh well, was only like an hour of gameplay.

You should be able to recover the file by going into your recycle bin and pulling it out from there. Unless you already dumped the recycle bin's contents...
