The Gatligator, IMO, is the most useless weapon in Hardmode...

The Gatligator (35G) is cheaper than the Megashark (Minishark: 35G + Illegal Gun Parts: 25G) and deals minimally less damage (21 vs 23 base) per shot while shooting just as fast and having the same 50% chance to not consume ammo.

The shot spread of the Gatligator is not much of a downside against enemies where the Megashark is good: Bosses. Their generally large bodies provide great targets for the bullets being spewn out (and it's not quite as inaccurate as the tooltip may indicate).
