How deep must you dig to be safe from biome spreading?
Takes a while to dig a 4-block wide tunnel to the underworld... At what point am I safe?

I'm so confused May 30, 2015 @ 1:34pm
Are you talking about the Crimson/Corruption/Hallow spreading on your world?

If you're trying to stop crimson/corruption/hallow, then you only need a 3-block wide hole, though it does have to be all the way to hell. Corruption can be harder to stop that way however, because the thorn 'bushes' can grow across your hole and corruptors will also be a problem.

Try buying bombs or dynamite and dropping them one after another, will be costly, but save a ton of time.

use snow, because crimson/corruption/hallow cant spread on snow
Ex: a 4x4x4 snow in the ground

This isn't really answering your question.. but if you're ever in need of quick mining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3psbRnKY-k4

Crimson's in my world, so I won't have to deal with those :p I'm making a 4-block wide one because I feel like it's more functional. All the way to hell, that's all I wanted to know - thanks!

Yeah, it'll cost too much... Plus, it'll make a hella big hole too.

Can't spread on many blocks. I use wood, actually. However, a 4x4 cube in the ground (not 4x4x4, this isn't minecraft) wouldn't work, because it could still spread underground.

That's... Really damn fast. But I don't have access to most of these o.o''

I know where to get penguins, but not kumquats. I don't know where to throw them either.

welp, all you really can do is dig a minimum 3 block wide hole all the way to hell. if you want to go the extra distance, i suppose you could do a few branch tunnels periodically to compartmentalize portions of area to ensure that even if one area gets exposed, you can still contain it. Apart from that, having a clemantimator really helps as well, though it can get really pricey if your on a large world since thats a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of area you gotta spray down.
