Golem is a wuss, btw. Plantera is tougher, but with decent hardmode armour and weapons, she's ok.
Whether you keep the weapon, only you can decide. Use what you find most fun! :)
I don't know what's so great about the Terrablade either. Before it was continuous swing, I didn't even consider it because I didn't want to break my fingers clicking, and now I'm just happy with what I have. :)
Horseman's Blade is great though. With the right setup (and gear), it's what gets me to wave 20 of Frost Moon.

I am no longer sure what accessories I used (5 out of: Charm of Myths, Warrior Emblem, Star Veil, Eye of the Golem, Celestial Stone, Moon Stone), but they're all Lucky (+4 Crit). Also, all new and old buff potions for melee.
Don't forget to grapple to a spike. (I'm sure the spike was a key element in it.)
