Starfury has a ranged ability.
Blue moon has nice reach but hard to control.
Marumasa has great speed...
Murasama for swarms of weak mobs, and autoswing.
Blue moon for knockback a bundle of mobs.
And I hate starfury since it launches only 1 star, it used to launch 3 with a cost of mana.
My pick is :
blue moon in jungle (because multi-hit on man eaters, and nice range for hitting hornets), spider nests, and dungeon.
Anywhere else, murasama.
Or jump into the jungle and look for some beehives, kill the Queenbee and hope for the Beekeeper. (Same damage and usage as Starfury, but spawns a bee if you hit enemies with hit.)
Tip: If the star of the Starfury spawns inside a block, it will travel through all blocks below it and if it hits free space, it will then crash normally, if hitting solid blocks again, so it's ability is not entirely useless underground. It's also a useful tool to locate caves above you.
Starfury is personally my favourite melee-weapon in the entire game.
I wish there would be a hardmode-equivalent...
But actually, go with whatever works for you. I remember wrecking normalmode until hell with the Muramasa (fast autoswing carnage)+Demonite Armor(even more attack speed)
But thanks for your tips anyway :D
You might wanna try out using Water Bolt instead...something like a beehive asks for that sort of magic weapon. ;)
Fast casting speed, auto-cast, when holding down RMB, bounces off walls a couple of times, travels rather slow and 1 bolt can hit multiple times.
You sometimes find it, when you mine off books from bookshelfs in the dungeon.
