I can't paint ANYTHING

I place any kind of block, and I try to paint it. It doesn't work.
I'm trying to paint gray bricks at first (using deep paint, just so you know.) and pearl wood after that. It still doesn't work.

Any help?

I'm playing on mobile if that's anything to do with It...

are you using the paint brush? or the paint roller? they need to be the right one.

More details, get a paint roller for walls, and paintbrush for blocks. put them in your hotbar like a weapon, use it, it'll then take the first paint (counting from top left, going right, then next row) in your inventory.

Alternately get a paint sprayer, equip it as accessory, place blocks and walls that will already be painted with the first paint (as above) in your inventory.
