Best armor and Items for a ranger class.

I have played 260 hours but that dosen't mean i can't learn. I would like to know for sure whats the best armor and items for a ranger class and i would like it greatly if you could help me find the best. Also, say why whatever you suggest is the best. thank you!

Shroomite Armor is, hands down, the best armor for ranged attackers.

The best weapons will be one of the following:

• Snowman Cannon w/ Rocket IIIs for ammo, unless you want to blow up terrain, in which case, Rocket IVs are better.
  
• Sniper Rifle (highest per-hit damage of any weapon in the game). Ammo choice is yours.
  
• Chain Gun (highest DPS of any bullet firing weapon). Ammo choice is, once again, yours.
  
• Tsunami, with your choice of arrow.
  
• Pulse Bow, your choice of arrow. Be mindful that the Pulse Bow will get rid of an arrow's default effects, however, and will only sustain the damage from a given arrow.

There are probably more, but I couldn't tell you what they are.

The best accessories, however, are as follows:

• Sniper Scope (Especially if using Guns, but it's great for all ranged weapons)
  
• Magic Quiver (Affects Arrow shooting weapons, specifically)
  
• Your choice of Emblem, recommend Ranger, Destroyer, or Avenger.
  
• Your choice of Wings, including the Jetpack and the Hoverboard.
  
• Last choice is yours. I would go with Frostpark Boots, but a Shield (Ahnk or Paladin) may also prove valuable.

Celestial Stone works well for that last slot. Boosts damage and crit as well as giving a slight nudge to your defense.

You might also want to consider carrying a golden showers spell if you're using a chaingun. The ichor effect synergizes greatly with that lead sprayer.

The ichor debuff lowers defense, meaning that any further hits on the target will do 10 extra damage (for the most part, although if the target's defense is high enough and the attack too weak, it still won't do as much.) If you're unloading so quickly, you'll end up with huge amounts of damage in the process. Especially if you're using crystal bullets, which release extra shards when they impact.

You craft Shroomite Bars from Chlorophyte Bars and glowing mushrooms at an Autohammer, which you buy from the Truffle after defeating Plantera.

Oh yes, of course. But if you start using them, you'll run out of them much faster, plus you won't be using crystal bullets to get the extra damage spam.

Sure, there are counter-arguments that ichor isn't that hard to gather and that the bullets are more convenient as you never have to switch weapons. I still personally don't care for them. Even so, the chaingun tends to handle well enough for most targets that ichor ends up being irrelevant. Bosses are a totally different issue, but I still prefer golden showers over ichor bullets on the boss.

I guess so. I just prefer to switch between ichor bullets and another type, since the bullets at least get the Shroomite bonus. It'd be easier to switch weapons than ammo in the heat of battle, though.

accessories it's the emblems, quivers, and the ammo type like lock on vs exploding or lunar bullets.
