Does this game have anti cheat mechanisms?

Hello! I am new to this game and I want to know the basics on how to avoid getting banned. So I am not new to this since there are countless reports on CS:GO dude his is using aim bot blah blah blah = BANNED. So does Terraria have VAC? how do you know if people are cheating? how do you avoid a server if there is one that is enabling CHEATS [if there are any]?

First of all no one bans anyone in here for cheating. You can get all the OP weapons and armor with cheats, no one gives a ♥♥♥♥. Just like that. Also, you can't notice when people are using cheats on a server, you'll never know. And there is no anti-cheat mechanism kind of thing here. People are just a bit better than in Counter Strike, people trust each other more here.

Well there still could be bad servers out there, with bad admins or annoying players. I remember one time someone complained that they went on a server with lots of money, and then they died. Well, all that money got dropped and the others picked it up. Of course, that was the person's fault for carrying that much of his single-player money onto a server.

But for sure, some servers want to compete and get on "best server" list, so they often provide lots of freebies for players so that you'll be impressed and vote for them.

Actually, servers can permanently ban someone from that specific server
