says meteorite has landed but it 100% did not

two separate times now in my newest world, i've gotten the message saying that a meteorite has landed, but when i go to each end of the map, there has been no meteorite in sight. I even used Tedit to look and see if it landed on a sky island but not seeing them on there either. I play completely vanilla, no mods. And ideas why they are not spawning??

Update: I found one meteor landed in a chasm, but the other one for sure just didn't spawn. Thinking it's probably just a one off glitch

sounds like your game is bugged
verifying game files/reinstalling might fix it

if u have corruption check the casms. in my latest world one meteor hit one of my hellevators so better check thoroughly on that

meteorites hit ANYWHERE

thats what i was gonna say, multiple times ive gotten them in a corrupt casm

check all chasms and sky islands in your world if the world is corruption check in the caves for me it was on an unexplored sky island when i couldn't find it

I found mine on a tree, was walking around looking for it but i seen a meteor head spawn in a place with single large tree, so i built up to the top and the leaves were meteorite, it could also be in the water or down one of the holes in a corrupted / crimson area.
