Questions about updates.
When Terraria is updated, is it mandatory to start a new world or can the changes and new additions be seen in an already created world?

Depends on the addition. If it has anything to do with world generation you will need a new world. For example, a world created in 1.4.3 will not have shimmer lake as shimmer was added in 1.4.4. Though you could artificially create it with the bottomless shimmer bucket (10 Luminite + Bottomless water bucket). If the update added, say, a new enemy in the crimson, you would not need a new world. The enemy would just spawn in the biome after you've updated the game.

Thanks for the clarification, this answers my question.
I understand that the contents of the chests are generated with the creation of the world, so they will not receive new items, for example, but if they have creations, they will be inside the world?
Thanks for your answer and the previous one.
