The angler and renaming your character

Is it intended that renaming your character gives you infinite fishing quests from the angler. Someone said he has the memory of a goldfish so it makes sense. Or perhaps this is a bug

never heard of this..
I got the fishing achievement by fishing up like 10-20 quest fish at a time and having that many different characters turn in the quest each game day

that might have been easier than what I did but I have no idea if it is a bug or not

Bug. When the game checks if a player has completed the daily quest or not it check the for the player's name, and if it does not match a list of players that have completed the quest, then they can still do the quest. (I probably explained this poorly and over complicated).

Oh thank god, a way to finish up the angler that doesn't require a godless amount of work. Having an achievement for doing 200 of those is pure sadism, so this is gold info if true.
