no npcs respawning
My home is getting corrupted and in a recent pirate invasion my dryad died and wouldn't respawn. Overtime, many npcs have died, and none have respawned, not my guide, merchant, dryad, and it's starting to become a survival situation. I know they are meeting the conditions because there is no invasion, it has been many days, and they have lived in the houses before, so the houses are built right. I am post hardmode and would really like these npcs back.

If your NPCs were set in houses that are now overrun by corruption, then they won't respawn there. You can either purify the area around them, or else build new housing in non-corrupted areas.
yeah i found that out right after i posted, but it just keeps on growing into my home, how do i stop that?
place 2 sunflowers on non corrupted ground, and the corruption will not spread past.
sunflowers spawn naturally
on grass
if you've gotten a pirate invasion you're in hardmode, hopefully you've got a steampunker (they move in after you kill a mechanical boss), if you do use a clentaminator to clean it out
if you haven't got one then the next best thing you can really do is build temporary housing elsewhere to get the dryad to move back in and buy purification powder then reclaim your original housing

this is only really true in pre-hardmode
in hardmode corruption and crimson can spread through stone which means it can and usually will go around sunflowers
still it could help a little
