Tips for solo master mode?
I've decided to challenge myself to beat master mode. I have not even beat the normal game yet, but I said screw it and did it anyways. I currently have managed to get lead armor and have been able to scavenge into the crimson biome, destroying two hearts.

For master, just do everything. Make sure you have all the potions available. Build proper arenas for each boss (Bigger than you normally would). Don't stick to one build. Switch it up to suit the boss. Learn to make lots of gold and get proper enchants from the goblin.

  • Use buff potions liberally; they make a noticeable difference. To that end, you'll want an herb farm and a variety of safe fishing spots set up ASAP.
  • Remember to eat! Well Fed (and its upgraded counterparts) is a relatively easy buff to keep going at all times, and in Master Mode your health regen will be basically nonexistent without it.
  • Defense in Master Mode is pretty much all-or-nothing. Either you go all in on defense as a melee build with seven Warding accessories, or you ignore defense in favor of dodge chance (or do neither and trust in your own ability to avoid being hit).
  • Don't underestimate the utility of mobility accessories in combat. Obviously they're good for exploration, but being able to move faster and in more potential directions is also monumentally helpful for avoiding damage during boss battles. Having a dash, e.g. from the Shield of Cthulhu, is particularly useful if you learn to use it effectively.
  • Make sure you've acquired the best gear available to you before challenging a new boss or invasion event. Preparation is key!

As you're still in early game. Don't be afraid to wall yourself in caves to protect yourself. Go slow but safely.

Also chairs is cheap to craft and sitting on it boost a lot your hp regen.

Get all area boost you can get in arena, even sunflower and pink candle to reduce the chance of being disturbed while you're focused on your boss. Also honey buff is extremely strong.
Do anything you can, prepare for the bosses better, bcs they will kill you in 3-5 hits. Do better weapon and acs with Goblin, play with friends, they will help you. My first playthrough was on master

Master mode requires a lot more preparation mostly.

You'll need an arena to fight each boss, the best gear you can make and buffs. LOTS of buffs. Start planting seeds because you're going to be making a LOT of potions. I also suggest making a base (AKA room with a bed, since beds are used to set your respawn point) in each general area of the world. That way when you do die, you can get back to where you were quicker.

Going for Master mode as your first playthrough is definitely a rough choice. The thing about Terraria is a playthrough doesn't really get easier the longer it goes on.

So if you're not having fun anymore don't be afraid to make a new world on a lower difficulty. You can seamlessly transfer characters between worlds too (not when Journey mode is involved tho).

Maxing defense is the most consistent strategy, put enough mobility for you to dodge and the rest of your accessories go to survivability

Dif bosses play very dif ways. Keep a good set of weapons/armors stored so you can change to meet the needs for early game. You get 2 free summon slots so bring 2 with ya no matter what. Imps aren't a bad choice since they can light things on fire for a bit of extra damage. GO FISHING. It's very slow moving at the start but eventually will let you get extra items like bast statues and hearts for arenas. If you are concerned about the spreading of the crimson/corruption build a 5x5 tunnel to the left bottom and right of ur base and then line the sides with wood, it will make any spread past that impossible. If you aren't yet in hard mode the king slime mount can be a good option for some mobility but is replaced by the queen early in hardmode. It can both rise and fall super fast letting you escaped hits easier and bounce on enemies dealing damage instead of taking it. You won't have good sideways movement so it's best to mount it for it's needs then unmount it. Get sentries for fishing, the explosive trap isnt a bad choice since it can't miss and you can lock off an entrance to ur fishing spot with just a few. Start up an alchemy farm early so you will have potions for days. These are the tactics I use in mastermode and I beat it solo with each class from start to finish. Hope it helps!
Create Boss Arena's

-Multiple platforms or minecarts
-Use campfire, heart lantern for increased health regen.
-Use honey in a two block pool on the platforms to apply the honey health regeneration. Put multiple pools.
-Use sunflowers to increase movement speed
-Use a bast statue to increase defense
-Wire up heart statues to dispense hearts
-Light the arena with star in a bottle to provide mana regeneration.
-Put various banners up.
-Build a small room somewhere in the area for the Nurse to quickly be able to heal.
-Build a small room for the dryad, which can provide a buff to you and a debuff to enemies.

***Boulder statues can spawn boulders and if you're clever you can use these types of traps to help kill bosses.

For instance my boss area to do the Tavern Keepers crystal is a triangle roof above the crystal stand with boulder traps falling onto the slopes of the roof to smash anyone who triggers it getting near to the crystal.

Combine that with the various things that can provide buffs and you can easily farm defender coins.
just keep in mind enemies will hurt you more. high difficulties in this game is almost something better than playing normal. By the way, boss now has an extra phase.

i can give you some general tips:

-Build an Boss arena where you can run like 1 minute and also jump.
-Before you beat the boss found in the underworld, take care of the corruption biomes in your world by separate them. make a space of 3x3 pixel between your world and the corruption biome.
-Potions can help you, but movement is the key. without movement, you won't last long.
