I have wooden planks, how do i place them in the background/foreground
Laft click - my arms spin round
Right click - I throw the block
How do you place it?

cant tell if u serious or not, if u are trying to place planks unless u have a background Wall OR attach them to something the arm will just spin, try placeing a few blocks up from the ground then placing the planks and removing said blocks, this will leave the planks in the air.

or place some background walls and then u can just place the planks in the air without attaching them to anything.

you should be able to place it with left click unless another wall is in the way

Problem solved.

I was asking how to swap between placing blocks in the background and placing blocks in the foreground.
Terraria does not use that mechanism, starbound does.
In terraria blocks are inherently one or the other, there is no toggling between forground and background.
ie you want to make a simple shelter you use wood for the forground walls and wooden walls for the background.
In starbound the same material can do both foregound and background.

But do you think in 5 different wikis anyone could mention that, they just use vague commentry like 'just place the block', they dont say 'how' to place the block or what keys or mouse buttons you use to place a block.

they kind of expect you to figure out that left click places blocks

but unlike starbound when your holding wood you can place it in either the background or the forground.

Other minor diferences -
...In starbound axes remove wood, front or back.
...In Terraria picks remove wood in the foreground, hammers remove wood in the background.
Picks removing wood, go figure?
