Honestly Terraria is kinda overrated
You need a wiki open to know how to progress in the game, the game is pretty much minecraft but 2d and not as much depth or creativity, the pixel art looks pretty uninspired and bland ive played a lot of games with pixel art and this one is probably the most generic looking, i have owned this game for about 10 years and i have given it so many chances but every time i try to play it i only get about 1-2 hours into it and move on to something else, i dont really see the game as anything more than a simplified 2d version of minecraft.

ahh yes, the private steam profile tells it all
No Jesters for you, today. But good try.:auimp:
Terraria always kind a...... Fight for more game progress to get stronger then building base for look. Most people mainly focus on fighting more then creatively.

When compare to minecraft in single player. It less about fighting. It never was meant to be a really hard game. Usually focus more on creatively then fighting.

When ever I think about these 2 game. They pretty much opposite from each other on what people like about it and what make it fun for them.
its funny how everyone is just "nice try farming for steam points" and just ignore anything i have to say, just proves my point the game is overrated the fan base just ignores any valid criticism and accuse of trolling
I was willing to hear you out until I saw your name, combining the least funny meme ever ("John [insert thing here]") with the worst game ever (TCAP sting game) should be illegal.

Well it's less of that and more that your criticism of the game is extremely shallow and clearly from a big negative bias. It's clear you're new to the game, or just haven't played that much if you really believe something as dumb as "you need the wiki to do anything", that might be true for modded, but it really isn't for the huge majority of the game. There is real criticism people have for the game, this just isn't it, this is recycled common things people say who haven't had any real experience with Terraria. If you approach this more with curiosity rather than vitriol, you'd get a better response. The game can be confusing, especially to new players who don't know what direction they're supposed to head in, that's okay. Exploration is a part of this game, and on my first playthrough, it took a long time to progress, but I didn't throw a fit everytime I felt lost, I just went around the world, and found new things. If you really are stuck, its okay to look something up, or ask a friend that's played before, plenty of games have things like this. And if none of that's helpful then maybe the game just isn't for you, it's not a bad thing to have personal taste, you are allowed to dislike the game, just don't complain about how other people should dislike it with you if it's something they enjoy and move on

clearly you werent, you just saw what i said about people just saying stuff about steam points and ignoring any valid criticisms i have so you went straight to insulting what my steam name is which is completley irrelevant to anything i said

just furthermore proves my points about the game being overrated and proves people like you would rather accuse of trolling when someone brings up valid criticisms, only you took it a step further and jumped straight to insulting

i never said you need the wiki to do anything, just you need the wiki to know how to progress through the game, and yeah i did find it pretty confusing only other comparable game ive played where you had to look up what to do next on a wiki is warframe

If you're so unwilling to give the game a real chance, and reduce it to "2D minecraft" the game might just not be for you. The game really is not that complex, the progression is very linear, there is a set list of things that are required to progress, if you need assistance, the mod launcher is officially supported on steam, there are numerous QoL mods you can find there that might help. You are absolutely inflating the problem and getting in your own head about it. The game is very flexible in how you play, there are very few things that actually require looking up if you just take the time to actually explore, follow the hints and suggestions the game gives you. Certain bosses can spawn naturally once they're unlocked in progression, just to give you extra help if you don't figure out how to spawn them yourself. Just watch a single playthrough of the game if you need to, it'll give you all the information you'll ever need on progression if you really refuse to just explore the game yourself. You said yourself you only ever get 1-2 hours in and give up, of course you feel like you're just hitting a wall, you give up so early. I'm trying to be helpful, but with you, and a lot of people that share this opinion, it seems like you WANT to dislike the game.

It's ok to share your opinion about the game, it's a shame that you're so dumb to even compare two of the most successful games and say those thinks. Nobody cares how many pixel games you've played and, nobody cares about you being old and boring. But hey, no one can blame you for being so close-minded and noy trying to do things without the wiki and enjoying other things different from the progression. Play Minecraft then; sure, you know how to do every potion, find specific objects and interact with everything you come across without help. And please, stop trying Terraria because if after 10 years you still don't get it, it's not for you. There was no need to even start the discussion...:terraria:
