whats the best flying mount

rn i got a shrimpy truffle and a drill containment unit (i switch between the two) any mounts that are better cause my finger gets tired of spamming my rod of harmony every millisecond (i play on PS). whatever needs to be done im willing to do it, i beat moonlord on a new world just for the terraformer

The shrimpy truffle is the best mount for combat. Either create an arena with bubble blocks bought from the party girl, filled with honey/ water in order to activate the shrimpy truffles movement and damage boost, or wait for rain.

If you don't want to create a bubble block arena, are using a mount outside of combat, don't want to wait for rain, or dislike how slowly the shrimpy truffle decelerates/ accelerates in it's turning motion, the witches broom is good (the cosmic car keys acting as a worse alternative).

Other good mounts include the slimy saddle/ gelatinous pillion for rapid falling speeds, or the hexxed branch on the ground.

Or... don't use mounts - you're in expert mode+, so you can use the celestial starboard + soaring insignia. I'm sure you already know, but you will not need to wear the master ninja gear as the wings horizontal movement speed bonus already accounts for that, boots are no longer necessary either, as you spend insignificant amounts of time on the ground - some people worry about mobility through buildings, but you can still fly hogging the ceiling, or intermittently jump/ fly with ease for rapid movement - the soaring insignia not only grants infinite flight, but also increases your flight/ jump mobility, improving this further.

Also, I know you're using the drill containment unit, is it for a large project? If you don't care about uncontrolled tile destruction, the celebration mk2 paired with Rocket IV's is far more effective.

Guh. I feel like shrimpy truffle is overrated. Witch's broom is probably my personal favorite but I don't think there is a definitive best.

Witch Broom is my personal favorite. It's Master Mode Exclusive, but it's the only 3-block tall mount and is just as fast as the U.F.O.
Also, Pogo has faster falling speed just like the slime mounts.

with the DCU, its more just of a why not thing. i have so much of everything that i hardly need it (i even have platinum in the double digits) its also pretty good at digging for stuff i dont need. i also use it to contain the world evil (doin pretty good so far, only 1% hallow and 1% corruption). might check out the celebration mk2 cause it sounds pretty fun

The shrimpy truffle has a 15% damage boost, under the right conditions or with a bit of prep, it is the best mount for most combat purposes, especially if you're using a mount set-up in order to increase your dps, for example to kill Betsy in higher difficulties before the crystal is destroyed (and without a cheese).

so for combat use shrimpy truffle, and for mining (or cleaning evil biomes) use the drill containment unit, but i would recommend using the ufo (or any other flying mount) whit the celebration MK2 for mining, so overall use the shrimpy truffle in general.
(i could have skipped some details like the fact that the shrimpy truffle is recommended whit an arena or that the drill containment unit is a bit faster than most flying mounts)(also take in mind this is only my opinion :D)
