Struggling to find Crimson biome
Heyo, on my first playthrough. I'm not a big googling kidna guy and stuff, I usually much rather try to deal with things on my own and solve stuff, however was forced to look up a thing or two regarding this game so far. I'm at a point where the wall eating bozo is killed and I'm aware that a Red looking biome is supposed to appear in my world. I play on large world. I tried looking almost everywhere, the whole surface 100% scouted - nothing, most middle parts checked and a ton of bottom too. I know the "hard mode" has started due to way rougher enemies appearing almost everywhere, it's pretty obvious at this point, so I assume the red biome has to be some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where. I read some similar threads, but most of them were from many years ago, so I find it slightly irrelevant. Is there any way to have some hint/tip in how to find it? And am I right to assume that it sure is in my world to begin with? Anything is appreciated, I have spent a lot of time looking for it. I'm attaching my map if that helps.

If you are in a world with corruption (the purple biome) crimson does not appear naturally, you will have to make an artificial one :marijaonlooker:

Hi. That's totally new info to me.
Is it normal that I have a next achievement telling me to destroy a CRIMSON altar. Isn't that supposed to be in a crimson biome?
And in general, do you mean that this situation is normal and you have either purple or red biome? Sorry for not fully getting it.

If you didn't choose to have it in your world to start, you have to either import it from another world, or buy the seeds and plant one yourself by placing the Dryad in the desert and visiting her during a blood moon.

Demon altars and Crimson altars are the same thing mechanically.

There is also a secret seed you can enter that gives your world both evil biomes at once, and you also get an achievement for it :terraria:

Enter 05162020 as your seed

Blood moons only allow you to buy seeds corresponding to your current world evil i.e. a blood moon in a corruption world would cause her to sell corruption seeds - she needs to be in a graveyard biome in hardmode to sell seeds of the opposite world evil. She does not require any specific 'biome' such as the desert to do this.
