Terraria with Proton?

I get that Terraria already runs on Linux natively, but I've found that (at least on my machine[TM]) that running it through Proton is quite a bit smoother for me on the graphics end. However, there's one problem -- it seems like inputs get "doubled", especially when doing stuff like typing in names or typing in chat.

Is there any fix for that so I can keep playing it through Proton, or do I just have to keep using the Linux version?

just tried that, inputs work well, but text still duplicates for some reason
