1.2.3 made Destroyer impossible!!!

Why on earth would they make The Destroyer (first and easiest of hardmode bosses) impossible? I've watched videos, i have every item needed to defeat him and every trinket and i can only last about a couple of seconds and i am using the perfect strategy and everything he just deals too much damage !!!!!!!!!!

Thorns potion, the max life new potion,cross necklace, star veil, bee cape, star cape, honey comb.
mushroom spear and frost armour... enjoy, btw if you havent beat any other mech boss, skeletrons easyiest so you can farm him for the metal for the armour and the shroom guy then sells the spear. have a campfire and a heart lantern nearby, top potions, flamethrower can wreck if you have no luck with the spear.
skeletron can be killed with palladium armour, regen ring, spectre boots, ice/fire wings,cobalt shield, gatilinator, the ammo box buff with the fire and heart lan tern, by flying stright up and decending skillfully but easily you dodeg and kick ass with major regen your life is stable.

You're armor + Weapons are bad. Just use some buffs. He isn't impossible. I could probably kill the destroyer.

I use a repeater and jester's arrows, come near to him and shot through his whole body! If you don't like bows/repeaters, use other range/magic weapons, which can pierce through enemies.

I do like repeaters and also a little bit magic books but this guy just rips out my guts everytime i try to kill him!!!! If i am in open space, then his minions kill me and i cant manouver quickly enough because he is penetrating the ground too fast and then hits me when i fly around to off his darn darn minions. And if i am in close space (in a box) Then his body is never close enough or in a position where i can use penetration weapons, and also his minions tear me apart and i cant manouver enough to kill them quickly enough because of the body of destroyer is everywhere inside the box and if i go with the super tight space (4 blocks wide tower) then his body penetrates me every second vertically and if i go outside the wizard tower then his minions shoot me down too, i just cant freaking understand how any of you guys did it!!! I've tried EVERYTHING and i can't even get anywhere close to defeating him!!!! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Dude... either keep flying or make a platform high enough above the ground so you never have to land, he basically can't hurt you.

Just prioritize probes and there's no way you'll be taking more damage than potions, the Campfire and the Heart Lantern will be healing you for. You can even make a little pool of honey if all that isn't enough.

If you have a nimbus rod it'll be a lot easier to defeat the destroyer and for an advance you can also try using a crimson rod but i'm not sure if that would work. A way not to get hit a lot is to use a rod of discord witch allowes you to teleport to where the curser is (but it doesn't work sometimes) but each time you use the rod it will cause a debuff that lasts eight seconds, also if you use the rod of discord while the debuff is in action you will take massive damage so I wouldn't recamend teleporting a lot. Also you can have one cloud on one side of you and one on the other (the clouds i'm talking about is from the nimbus rod). If you have any questions on where to get the stuff or where you should do this then just comment back. PS. you should use adamantite/titanium armor so you don't take as much damage as if you had armor with less defence.

You should also use penetrating weapons that do a lot of damage like the death sickle.

Yup, tried again just moments ago, went with the crimson cloud + assault rifle tactic, and just flew around all over the place like a mad man avoiding the destroyer, and also focusing on the robot balls, but that sure didnt work either. I have tried and failed 5 times now, and nothing works. The robot balls just take too much damage to me, their lasers is OP and they drop hearts mabye 1/10 but the dropped hearts is still impossible to pick up because if i fly down to pick it up, 10 more robot balls will pwn me completely, not to mention the destroyer itself. I just dont get how you guys can beat this thing!!!!
