Where's the Demonic Hellfish?

First mission from Angler is to get the Demonic Hellfish, I can't get him from lava like I would expect, but I can't get him from water right about Hell either. What gives?

Edit: Tripoteur is correct, you don't need the hotline for the Demonic Hellfish, but all this info about it is true:

You [don't] need the special rod called HotLine, it's the only one that can successfully fish in Lava.

Some sources suggest you can ONLY get it as a reward for your 25th quest completed, other places suggest you can get it any quest AFTER the 24th.

I've probably done 100 quests though, and I haven't got one still....

You don't need the Hotline Rod, you *can* fish for it in caves just above the Underworld. Perhaps your fishing/bait power isn't high enough?

And remember, Angler quests aren't actually quests. He's looking for a different fish every day, so at 4:30 every morning the previous day's fish stops being catchable and you gotta check back with the Angler.

Alright thanks for clearing that up, I got a quest to get the Fishotron which I already had back at my base, so I figured I'd finish fishing the Ocean and go back to my base later and give it to him, but once I went back to him he didn't want it anymore :P

hotline is a random chance after 25 quests. Ive done well over a hundred and have yet to get it.

You mean Fishotron? Haha, I found it somewhere underground, I was pretty deep, lower cavern layer probably.

Cavern layer in the default biome ("forest") is all you need. Make sure your pool of water is big enough, that makes a huge difference.
