better pickaxe

I am newb and I got a golden pickaxe, but there are no better ores
how do i get better tolls than golden

Search for platinum for a platinum pickaxe or mine demonite and craft yourself a nice nightmare pickaxe. Demonite can be found in the underground corruption or if you don't have the corruption biome and have the crimson biome, you can mine crimtate (which is basically the parallel of demonite) and craft a deathbringer pickaxe. You also need to kill some monsters in these biomes to acquire certain materials needed to craft these pickaxes such as shadow scales and or tissue samples.

Yes, that is the corruption biome. Once you delve deep enough you might see these glowing purple blocks which are demonite. You'll need these to craft your nightmare pickaxe, however you cannot mine the ebonstone blocks in the corruption which will probably be surrounding the demonite so you'll either have to use bombs to mine your way in or if you've defeated the eye of cthulhu boss already and have spawned the dryad npc you can buy holy water which will then turn the ebonstone blocks into pearlstone which will allow you to mine it with any pickaxe.

If you have gold in your world, you can't find platinum.
You might get it out of silt or slush blocks, if you run them through an Extractinator, though.
Also, even if you manage to get some demonite, you can't craft a new pickaxe out of it, unless you also had shadow scales, which you can only get from the Eater of Worlds.

If you have gold in your world, you can't find platinum.

You can also get moteorite equipement, which is better than golden. To get it, you must first go to the bottom of the corruption chasms, then find shadow orbs (dark, deeply purple glowing balls) and break them with a hammer (or bomb). Use the purification powder (buy it from the Dryad) or dynamite (buy it from the demolitionist) to break a path to the orbs. Then after breaking an orb, wait 1 in-game day. There will be a 50% chance of a meteor landing somewhere in the world. After that time, or after you mine the meteor, break another orb. BUT DO NOT break more than 2 orbs, unless you are prepared to fight the Eater of Worlds boss. And when mining meteorite ore from the fallen meteor, be carefull, since touching the ore will set you on fire, and meteor head monsters will spawn around it. They are easy to defeat, but appear in large numbers, so be careful.
The meteorite ore can then be used to make armour, phaseblades (Star Wars style light sabres), a space gun (raygun), the star cannon and more.

If you get enough Meteorite for a full Meteor armor set, plus the raygun, you can use the gun for 0 mana cost, it's an awesome combo for that stage of the game.

or you could go on a few raids in the underground jungle to get the materials to make the blade of grass
NOTE: only do this if your charicter is softcore as even with gold armor you are likly to get slaughtered down there.

I spawned eater of worlds by breaking the orbs
was whooping his a$$ with spear but then he halved into two and the 4 worms and i died and now hes gone and the orbs too

Easy go and kill some eyes at night they will drop lenses u need (6) then just find an demon altar and make an suspicius looking eye an summon the chutul at night when u defeat him he will drop u some good things.

u can still make an new world an fight him there and u will get ur prize for the kill.

You can fight the Eater of Worlds again by breaking 3 more orbs or by summoning him yourself with worm food, which can be crafted from rotten chunks on a demon altar. I still recommend that you go find meteors first, though. Have you gotten a message saying "A meteor has landed" at dawn after breaking an orb?

You should try breaking more orbs, if you find a vilethorn or a ball o hurt the fight should be fairly easy. You should probably buy some shurikens or grenades just in case you dont find one of those weapons

already mined all meteorite and pwnd eye of cthulu, no good stuff tho
