How to Progress?

Hi I have been playing Terraria for a few days now but my problem is every time i try to go and explore I die so fast :( I do have armor on and what i believe is a ok weapon.

I know I need better resources but I cant seem to find any,I have found Copper,Lead,Tingensen <sp?> and once in a while gold. I also found some Crimson but i cant mine it :(

So over all how do ya progress in this game?

I love the game it just seems hard :(

carry a door or use earth to block your tunnle every so often so that foe can sporn in it and catch you.

us that fact you can place a block any hwer you cant reach to yoru advantage and so make road blocks so that the foes can get to you.

it slows the progress up some what but it can help stop then reachign you.

if hurt badly makea capfire or place one and brick yoru self i nwith earth and jsut reast up till yoru helf is full again.

if you fidn a sumunker potion that wil lhelp you trach down recorses and if yo ustarta new 1.24 world it proalby will give yo ufar more resorces then the older patches. it morei nline with the xbox resorce count.


finaly if your into fudgign a game, get your self a map viewer and so look at the map without the fog of war, so you can hunt the gold, lead and tugston without worryign about wher to look. as you knwo wher to look. that that likda cheating but it hay its liek a modernd geolagist with al lther tool for findign stuff simply.

I tried looking for a map viewer but I can't find one that works with 1.24 of Terraria.

MoreTerra looks interesting but it keeps telling me I have a invalid world file and it gives a Exception error.

Would be nice to get rid of fog of war,I just love falling to my death or drowning lol.

By the way I reinstalled and restarted my Char and World. Just incase that profile editor I mentioned in one of my posts corrupted somthing.

You can avoid fall damage by finding a lucky horseshoe in a sky island chest. Equiping them allows you to fall from any height without taking any damage. And you can avoid drowning by killing sharks in the ocean and getting a diving helmet drop from them. While wearing it (in the helmet slot) your breath meter lasts 95 seconds instead of the usual 30.


Trying to use mods is probably the easiest way to corrupt your game files. You should avoid using them if you can.
