Shiverthorn herb not growing on old worlds?

I've got a massive snow biome... been around 7-8 game days and not a single sprout of Shiverthorn has come up anwhere across it. Any ideas?

You have to leave the area. While plants will bloom on your screen normally if conditions are good, plants will not grow rapidly/sprout if you are within visible range. Just ignore your tundra for a few ingame days, come back and loot.
