Merchant wont spawn

I'm having a problem. I've tried to get a merchant and i can't, he won't spawn. I have a house, and I also have enough money, but he just wont spawn. Any idea why?

You need the money in your inventory.

Coin place is fine, the coin must be on your toon, and not in a chest or any other storage container. You can drop the coins after the Merchant arrive. I think also that he can only arrive at day time.

Maybe your house/room is invalid, You can verify the room with the Question mark in the housing menu.

I think it just takes a few days, my house is valid, and i have more than enough money

Beds aren't required, although they can be used as a comfort item, only a 10x6 house, table (work benches are included), light source, chair, and an exit (door or wooden platform(s) ) are required to make the house. (Correct me if i forgot to list anything! [except the corruption/crimson, that's obvious])

Personally i recommend checking the wiki for anything you need to know before actually making a disc. about it!

the merchant was the second NPC i got

All NPCs have a spawn 'chance' once the requirements are met.

By the way, as a additional tip. NPC's won't actually move in unless you are a certain distance away and they are off screen (almost the same rules that apply to tree growth)

So if you're waiting for someone to move in, go off exploring or resource gathering while you wait.
