Terraria xnafx40_redist.msi error

I downloaded terraria but when I start it a screen pops up "Installing: xnafx40_redist.msi" I install it then when I start terraria it shows me that same screen again. Can anyone tell me what i could try to do? I had and played it before but that was before I got a new pc. Please help

Goto the game inside your steam folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Terraria And then run the dotnext setup install it via that, then try the game

Right-click on the xnafx40_redist file and select "Repair."

I can make it to "C:\Program Files\Steam\" but there is no "SteamApps" folder. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, looking through the two available folders, public and bin, as well as putting a SteamApps folder in myself, but nothing has worked.

That's wierd. The SteamApps folder is usually at the very bottom of the list of folders when you enter the Steam folder. If you are using a different operating system then the Steam folder or SteamApps folder might be in a different location but I don't see how that could make a difference.

Try doing a search for the SteamApps folder with your PC's Find or Run feature. Or try doing a search for your Terraria folder and then make note of it if it differs from the pathway I gave you.

I got it fixed, I went to Terraria in my Steam window and hit "Browse Local Files" or something along those lines, it brought me to the terraria folder in common that is in SteamApps, then going to the Steam folder. I don't remember it's exact location, but I believe it was in Downloads, because when I first installed steam I replaced "C:/Program FIles" with "C:/Downloads" But I can't seem to find the Steam folder there, or at least the last time I looked through it. But the game at least works now.

This is why, when you install your game, you keep track of where the game's files will be installed. The setup application should tell you where the files will be installed during installation.

Appearntly, I'm Clone1826 now. The question is, what happened to Clone1627 through 1825? And no, I did not miscount, I once accidently made a username Clone1626 :P
