Spreading Corruption
Does corruption only spread through grass blocks? (If so do dirt blocks count?)

You really should take some time to read the Terraria wiki[terraria.gamepedia.com] :tbpwink:
Whatver you want to know, the answer is usually there.

No idea if you still need help but...
The only blocks that can get corrupted are Sand, Cobblestone and Grass block.(Dirt with grass on top)
Dirt without any grass can not be corrupted, but corrupted grass can spread to it and in time turn everything in to corruption.(If you want to use a dirt barrier make sure there are no grass blocks near by.)

sand and cobble will ony be affected in hardmode and none of my corrupted grass is touching normal grass or dirt blocks (atleast from the corruption i've seen)

Corruption can spread on only dirt before Hardmode. During Hardmode, it can spread on dirt, stone, ice, sand, and can turn mud into dirt and spread to there. With dirt, spreads the same way grass does. But you should always check the wiki.

Oh yeah, and make sure to check if thorns can grow. If thorns grow and touch uncorrupted grass it can spread over your barriers.

Snow biome is pratically immune to corruption or hallow btw. Unless corrupted ice grow all the way up near the surface, you wont see any corrupted monsters around.

I have crimson so I don't have to worry about the thorns... I only say corruption because they are pretty much the same and it was in the game first.
