Also, I tried Mana Regeneration Band yesterday, probably for the first time ever, and found it useless. I think it was 1 less second while standing to reach max mana. Of course, these weren't deep tests, just quick ones, but seriously, who the hell will stand there and regen mana in a fight? I prefer spam Mana Potions, despite the new debuff. I can just dodge while waiting the debuff to end, or even just a few seconds to minimize the damage loss, rather than just stand there and risk getting hit.
I used to like Magic Cuffs in my previous playthrough. So far, in my 1.2.3 playthrough, I've crafted them, but haven't been using them. I don't have Spectre Set yet, but even then, I don't think I will use them. It was a nice acc when you could somewhat facetank, but considering the nerf to Spectre Healing, I think I'd rather something else, like Star Veil or a second emblem, or something, I don't know. I will see when I get to test the nerfed Hood and the new Mask.
Anyway, I believe Magic Cuffs are superior to Mana Regeneration Band. You WILL get hit.
He means, all the items you use in creating the, i'll take Celestial Cuffs as example, are the following;
Band of Regeneration; increases life regeneration
Band of Starpower; increases max mana by 20
Band of Mana Regeneration; increases max mana by 20 and increases mana regenation
Shackle; increases defence by 1
Mana Cuffs; increases max mana by 20 and restores mana when getting hit
Celestial Magnet; pickup range for Mana Stars is increased
According to his ideas, the Celestial Cuffs should give the following bonuses:
+1 defence
+60 max mana
Pickup range for Mana Stars is increased
Restore mana when hit
Increases life regeneration
Increases mana regeneration
Another example, the Fire Gauntlet.
Feral Claws; +12% melee attack speed.
Titan Glove; melee knockback is increased
Power Glove; +12% melee attack speed, knockback is increased
Sorcerer Emblem; +15% magic damage
Ranger Emblem; +15% ranged damage
Warrior Emblem; +15% melee damage
Avenger Emblem; +12% damage
Mechanical Glove; +12% melee attack speed and +12% damage, knockback is increased
Magma Stone; inflict fire damage on attack
This would mean the Fire Gauntlet would have these stats;
+32% melee attack speed
+39% damage (+24% for summon damage)
Melee knockback is greatly increased (3x)
Inflict fire damage on attack
I shouldn't even get started on the Sniper Scope, but, why not.
Ranger Emblem; +15% ranged damage
Warrior Emblem; +15% melee damage
Sorcerer Emblem; +15% magic damage
Avenger Emblem; +12% damage
Eye of the Golem; +10% critical hit chance
Destroyer Emblem; +10 damage and +8% critical hit chance
Rifle Scope; increased zoom range for guns
The sniper scope would have the following stats;
+49% damage (+34% for summon damage)
+18% critical hit chance
Increased zoom range for guns
Yeah. This up here is all you need to know that it's a terrible idea.
Oh... Oh god no. Even if they removed the ability to stack the same line from different accessories, it would be ridiculous. :|
But yeah, I guess I can understand about Celestial Cuffs. It's not like 40 more mana, 1 def and slightly higher mana regen would make you completely imbalanced.
Wait.. do Celestial Cuffs and Magic Cuffs stacks? I'd check myself, but Travelling Merchant never sells Celestial Magnets. :(
Trading the very useful +20 mana for much less useful range for mana stars? I think I'll pass.
Actually, the mana when damaged is way more useful than passive mana regen in Hardmode.
You WILL be taking damage, so you'll be at almost full mana most of the time.
This is extremely useful in combination with the Spectre healing set (as you will be easily able to heal the damage you take, while not having to worry about mana).
