Butterfly in a jar?

Anyone figured out how to craft the butterflies in jars yet?

I assume it involves a jar....use the jar with the guide, see what he says.

Well, I can't see any option to craft a jar, either.
Either it's not crafted from just glass or I'm blind (tried the old crafting stations as well as the new Glass Kiln, to no avail).

Edit: it apparently can't be crafted with bottles, either
And giving glass to the Guide doesn't show any "jar" recipe (unless I missed it somehow)

Its called a bottle, but same thing.... Its crafted at a table with glass, glass is made from furnaced sand.

None of the five types of butterfly I've found are marked as Materials, so it's hard to imagine they'd be used in that kind of crafting...

Does not exist. You must be thinking about fireflies in a jar.

Now fireflies in a bottle are easy. It's Firefly + Bottle, simple as that.

They hang from ceilings.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that it doesn't exist yet... Though it does exist according to the Wiki Butterfly Jar [terraria.gamepedia.com]

Guess we need to wait till more info is known about some of the new recipes

I believe a glass kiln is 16 glass in a furnace. Although I may be wrong ( unless it's a Terrarium)

are you sure you remembered to include a butterfly and not something else. Butterfly is the most essential part of butterflies in jars.

Came here to look for answer as well, the wiki says all you need is bottle and butterfly, no crafting station is needed. Caught a bunch of butterflies already, none of them counts as material, and the guide doesnt have recipe for it either.

The only answer I can think of right now is that this recipe is simply broken. As someone mentioned above, the devs probably forgot to include the "material" tag for butterflies
