Biome Key Farm

Right now I'm using an arapaima farm in the ocean to farm for crimson keys. Does this still work in 1.3 or will the monsters only drop a key if my background actually appears as crimson? I have 200 blocks of crimstone placed.

I only know that meteor heads dont drop biome keys anymore, but a good way for doing crimson keys farming is to get as many sa possible solar tablets, then go to the surface crimson and summon the eclipse, then kill all the monsters you can, if the eclipse is over and you didn't get any key's, summon again the eclipse and be doing this until you get the key, I hope I was useful!

i dont know i get them when i dont expect them lime from my house to the ocean for Duke Fishron. if you play enough you will get them. i have like 10 just by playing. the vampire knives are not that great though in my opinion. i hope i helped.

I'm pretty sure it still works, also farming pirate invasion is a fast way to get keys because invasion spawnrate is super high.

That style of key farm still works if its done properly. Ofc MY farm also includes Blood Feeders and Jellys, on top of the sharks and Arapaimas, so if you're not seeing those you probably don't have enough crimson blocks.

Yep I'm seeing those I'm just being super unlucky with drops I guess. Thanks for confirming it works
