"Destroyer is easiest mech boss"
Destroyer = Bullet hell, nearly impossible to get out of "death loop" without getting hurt. Boss has tons of health and defense, and is immune to all status effects

The Twins = Dodging slow/inaccurate projectiles. Player does tons of damage due to low defense and vulnerability to status effects

Destroyer = consists of so many segments that it can cross itself 3 times, each segment can take damage making piercing weapons the boss.

The Twins = shoots fire and lasers that inflict status debuffs and lounges at players.

Both "bullet hells" can be avoided with well placed blocks. Both the probes(that usually acts like an endless supply of hearts and stars) and the fire from spasmo. Even the lasers from retiz can be blocked by...blocks.

Don't forget:

More damage = more probes = MOAR LAZARS

i acutally found skeletron prime to be the easiest, i've defeated all three and skeletron prime was imo alot of workup and then not much.

Maybe on expert they are bullet hells, but on normal? Absolutely not.

And I feel the same as OP, I've been reading guides everywhere that say the Twins is the hardest mech boss. But the first time I fought them, it was really easy to determine their pattern and focus on one at a time. I didn't even bring potions to the fight, and almost beat them, just didn't have enough dps to finish. Meanwhile, the first time I fought the other two bosses, I was destroyed in seconds because their patterns are more erratic.

And before we start talking about Spazmatism's second form, you can dodge the cursed flames by staying as far away from Spazmatism as possible, and the charges by going above or below Spazmatism.

Okay. So the destroyer is the easiest boss if you are a melee character. Can we agree on that? All you need to do is move slightly to the left and hold down the attack button. It will die before you do.

The twins are not all that difficult since the shots can be blocked. However, they used to be a bit harder pre 1.2 than they are now (the decreased hp does a lot). Some people enjoy their shooting range and aren't prepared for a boss that actually shoots back. Because this is the first one that do.

Skeletron prime isn't all that difficult either. But it's a pain as a melee character as it always wants to hover 4 blocks above you. So chasing it usually don't result in any superb damage. Some people found this tricky because it's hard to hit the limbs.

Daedalus stormbow and holy arrows destroys all three mechs in a matter of seconds, even on expert, just build a cool arena and start spamming those arrows.

I abused Daedalus Stormbow with Holy Arrows to beat The Destroyer, and that was the only time I legitimately beat The Destroyer.

I don't feel comfortable about that. Besides, the Daedalus Stormbow didn't even EXIST before 1.3.

I tried doing melee Destroyer a long time ago. Got destroyed by lasers. Constantly got trapped in death loop.

Maybe because I was using Frost armor instead of Hallowed armor?

I love Frost armor. Too bad it becomes obsolete pretty fast.

Get good mobility accesories, and use a spear for the little worm, make a little arena and it should be done.

Not the case if you use a ranged setup. In terms of raw defense it is only really surpassed by Shroomite armour, which is a long ways away. It's also great for a mixed melee and ranged setup due to it's rare mixed bonus.

Must say, I found the Twins to be more doable as a first mech boss on expert, but once I got the harp, the Destroyer went down fast enough. I used the Megashark on Skeletron Prime and that was the end of those. Gotta keep moving with those bosses, IMO.

Yeh, that can be really useful for bosses, although the only time I've actually used it vs a boss, was the ML.

just make sure u got no summons when fighting him, cause they tend to attack different segments then you and so the drones spawn from them and wont get killed by your main weapon aoe instantly

Destroyer is the only Mech Boss that can't fly, which means an Arena built high off the guard easily manipulates the boss and makes it pose absolutely no threat melee wise.

Probes spawned by the Destroyer have a very good chance of dropping Health recovery on death, but they can be easily ignored.

Destroyer is also annihilated by many piercing weapons thanks to its incredibly long body lenght. Even Demon Scythe fairs extremely well against the Destroyer. Take a Golden Shower or Magical Harp and you have one extremely dead Destroyer. Jester's/Holy Arrows and Gatligator also rip this boss apart. His huge HP means nothing when you can deal hundreds of damage to each body segment all at the same time. And for Melee users? Just kick it in the teeth with Ice Sickle or Fetid Bangnakhs.

I'm not going to claim that Skeletron Prime or The Twins are difficult; both of them are easy to fight, but Destroyer thick and through boasts the easiest manipulation, allowing a safe and extremely quick fight. Destroyer from an objective point of view is still the easiest Mechanical boss.

Probes now have a 1/3 chance of dropping a heart.

Judging by my horrid luck, it's a 1/6 chance. It FEELS like it, anyway.

And if I build an arena really high above the ground, it'll be hard to hit it with melee because it'll be so far away.
