I'm planning to host a server using the official tool. I'm not interested in using tshock or any kind of editors. I just want to know if this is a problem I should anticipate in a vanilla-run game.
Either way you can just chugg Life fruits in hardmode otherwise.
Each player needs 15 life crystals to reach pre-hardmode max HP
That'll cover about three people, more or less.
If you run out of life crystals in a world, the only option is to either use a server host plugin thing like tshock, or to use another world.
Yeah that's not true anymore.
just buy a treasure lamp from the skeleton merchant and it'll show you the way
Not even slightly accurate. I've personally found 60 in my current world and have about 20% of the world explored. Yes, this is a large world.
However, your players probably will struggle to find hearts. Most of my exploration is in easy reach connected tunnels that reach the surface. Pre-hardmode has always been a struggle to find enough hearts for one character for my solo gameplay. A server with 5 people would have to really spread out. Hopefully everyone uses torches to mark where they've been, so the next person doesn't waste too much time exploring already-explored areas.
And a side note: you can't use Life Fruit if you are under 400 HP.
*Edit: 15-20? Forget it. I'm sure lots of people think that might be fun, but don't think for a moment that the server will be fair and balanced for everyone. It won't.
