Best accessories for Terrarian Yoyo user?
Hey guys, I'm wondering what the best loadout for a yoyo user is. Obviously yoyo bag and celestial stone. Other than that, is the melee speed worth it? I can tell it increases the range, but does it increase the speed it hit the target, or the speed of the little orbs? Is there something else more valuable like the damage reduce items? (worm scarf and the ice turtle one) or the dodge items.

My loadout: Hoverboard, Yoyo Bag, Celestial Shell, Fire Gauntlet, Mechanical Glove

Cheers thanks guys

Maybe some counterweights

Get rid of the Hoverboard and get a UFO or Fishron mount then use a Worm Scarf or Ankh Shield. Maybe even a Celestial Stone (it stacks with Celestial Shell).

What I use in my melee loadout:
Beetle armor(damage set)
Terrarian, Solar Eruption, Star's Wrath

ACCESSORIES
----------------------------------
Fire Guantlet
Warrior Emblem
Worm Scarf
Celestial Shell
Destroyer Emblem
and Frozen Turtle Shell in expert slot, or Yo-Yo Bag, if using Terrarian, or even Ankh Shield if you prefer.
All warding or menacing.
---------------------------------------------------------
Keep a pair of wings in vanity just in case, but use the Cosmic Car Key or Shrimpy Truffle for main movement.

Also use good potions and things like Sharpening Station whenever needed.

Here's my loadout for taking down the Moon Lord:
(all warding)
Yoyo Bag
Master Ninja Gear
Celestial Shell (not stone... shell gives you extra buffs from werewolf if you fight ML at night)
Star Veil
Ankh Shield

I don't bother with wings/boots/hoverboard because I have the Cosmic Car Key from the martian madness invasion, which I'd recommend as it allows you to use more defensive accessories. ML is a long fight even with the best equipment, and being able to survive several unlucky hits in a row is pretty important.

Edit: I swap out my Yoyo bag for a Celestial Stone if I fight him with a Solar Eruption instead of a Terrarian.

I love the shiny stone, but it only activates when you aren't moving, and in a Moon Lord fight, that's pretty much out of the question. Perfect for AFK farms though, very useful.

The usual melee ones? There's only yoyo bag that's different, really, which I guess would replace something like boots, provided you have decent wings or are happy using just a mount. If you're on expert, all warding, hands down, otherwise might as well use menacing.

Actually, there's a method to killing the ML that allows you to stand more or less still, 'though it's far from AFK; with that, though, I'd EASILY say the band thing that gradually heals AND reduces potion sickness time is more useful.

for most boss fights & generally when you are airborn:
(as already stated by the others, go with the UFO or maybe the Fishron Mount, for the Moonlord the FM is better imo because when you are low health you are a lot faster than with the UFO)

- celestial shell
- ankh shield
- worm scarf
- star veil
- shiny stone (am i seriously the only one who finds this incredibly useful?)
- and obviously, yoyo bag

if you fight mobs on the ground, in caves etc.:

- fishron wings (instead of star veil)
- lightning boots (instead of ankh shield or worm scarf)

If your armor rating is not already very high, your best modifier would be Warding for all of them. Otherwise Quick can also be really helpful, since increased mobility will greatly help you avoid damage while you keep your yoyo locked on the target. I personally wouldnt recommend Menacing, since you already have a damage output of around 4000/sec with the two main yoyos plus 3000/sec with the two counterweights. Damage is not your problem if you play with the Terrarian. Getting into the right position to fully use that power and avoiding damage is the hard part.

Might as well just use Frostpark, unless it's an aesthetic > function deal.

Upgraded lightning boots. They just fuse them with the Ice Skates, get functionality of both.

How'd you manage that? :P
I throw anything that says material on it at the Guide. Always and forever.

No boots is needed on end game set if we have fishron or ufo ?
Xiarn Aug 9, 2015 @ 1:11am
Not really, no. As long as you're above ground an infinite flight mount is enough.

Baically, you don't need melee speed so don't focus on that.

-Celestial shell is the baws for melee fighters
-Celestial stone increases your overall bonuses.
-Yoyo bag like you mention, since it gives all the yoyo related bonuses and don't stack with the parts that makes it.
-I tend to use the mechanical glove for overall damage, speed and knockback, you can use a warrior emblem instead since the damage is what we want when using yoyos.

The last 1/2 are up for choice
-Ankh shield if you dislike getting debuffed and knockbacked / flesh knuckles if you just want some higher defense.
-Mythic charm if you know that you rely a lot on potions
-Eye of the golem / destroyer emblem if you feel like you aren't seeing enough critical hits.
