Map/Mini Map missing?

Suddenly I have no minimap up in the top right corner. I've tried toggling the map, rebinding the map toggle key, joining different worlds, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and nothing seems to work. The 4 segments of map just to the left of your health that change how the map looks are even missing for me. It's like the map has been completely removed from my game! My friends on the same server have told me that they have normally functioning minimaps when we play together. This has been really bothering me, for obvious reasons, and I can't find anyone else having this same problem on the web.
Please help!

There was an option under "General" on the main menu's settings toggled off for mini map.

Doesn't work. I tried rebinding tab to multiple buttons, and it's probably worth mentioning that I can't press M to view the map in fullscreen either.

maby try to deinstal your game and instal it again, maby it fixes the problem

So pretty much go on the front title page of terraria and go to settings and then to video and then to map enabled turn it from off to on Hope this helped bro!

Maybe you should activate the minimap in the options tab, try if it works ;)

if you dont have enough ram game automatically diasbles it there is no solution

For some reason there is no option in the video settings for a map to be toggled.

EDIT. Found it. It was under General, not Video.
