I can't find gold ore

I have defeated all the pre-hardmode bosses at least once (exept Brain Of Cthulhu and Wall Of Flesh), so that means I've done A LOT of mining, but I've only gotten 9 gold bars. Is something wrong?

Does you world have platinum? A world will always have one of two options for each ore, platinum is interchangeable with gold.

Why haven't you fought the Brain? That's how you get Deathbringer pickaxe and Crimtane armor.

And as said above, you probably have Platinum. Same as gold, and actually just a tiny bit better. Your world only has one of the following from each either/or:

Copper or Tin
Iron or Lead
Silver or Tungsten
Gold or Platinum
Corruption or Crimson
Cobalt or Palladium
Mythril or Orichalum
Adamantite or Titanium.

Oh yeah, I made a second world trying to get Crimson and I did mine there for a bit. Thats probably where I got the gold. (Yes my main world has platinum) Thanks

I dont have a crimson world yet I made 6 and they're all corruption

also, you may have got the gold from chests/crates

The main way you cna get it is to either go to a new world or fish/ use an extractor. It doesn't matter though as the alternate res work the same as the others.
