Butcher's Chainsaw as a weapon?

Would the butcher's chain saw be a viable weapon? I'm curious because I know it does a lot of damage but the fact that it has such a small hitbox makes me wonder

There's no reason to not be using a terrarian as a melee.

Honestly as a melee weapon at the point in you get it, it could be pretty viable to be fair. I can imagine it's pain to use against a boss however.

Eye of Cthulu is pretty close to it in base damage and that yoyo bag just makes it even better.

And I think the range could cause some problems.

yeah i got the eye of cthulhu yoyo and I need one more broken hero sword for terra blade.

grab any minion, and some ichor flasks for your yoyo and youll tear through things. especially if you get the yoyo bag(super easy to do by the way)

It's certainly viable, but it would heavily require a special tanky kind of build. For instance, the crimson mimics drop some kind of toothy claw weapon, that had really short range, but incredible attack speed. My friend made it work with the titanium shadow dodge buff, so I could imagine him trying to make use of the Butcher's Chainsaw.

And... if anything else... you could always keep it since it's such a pretty good chainsaw for trees too.
