Best way to get Black Lens?

So I'm trying to get the optic staff, and the black lens is being really annoying. I know that using a water candle on a new moon helps, but is that all there is to it?

Well, the hardmode Eyes tend to drop them more often. But I don't know if the dripplers drop 'em. But basically, kill lots of them. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not

Yeah just sheer luck really.

Ideally you go to a jungle biome during blood moon, plant a candle and hold a candle while standing directly in the ideal spawn zone on the screen. Battle potion also helps but short of all of that it's just plain luck based.
