They seem to spawn over time, not directly. Sometimes, there is an island above the skybridge that blocks the spawns as well.

If you have the Flower boots you can just run around and grow some plants, then crash it all and go again. Some guy did this with a yoyo making it pretty autmatic.

Has to be a dirt skybridge for best efficiency, although a grass bait-farm skybridge can spawn them intermittently.

I have 3 dirt bridges each on different levels ( it seems to give me more plants than 1 long bridge) after i join the world a couple of minutes i go farmin and i always get ~5 plants

When I play, if I walk from spawn -> beach, I find at least two of these plants. I've used different characters and worlds, and it seems the same with each one. There are 4 plant varieties, so you may be missing them if you're focused on the 'one' you saw before.

I am not moving super fast when I travel, so maybe they need time to spawn into the normal growth?

Upd. Aand i find 3 plants. create large world (crimson). 2 on left side, 1 in right side.
Strange. They don't spawn in corruption world. At least this is the first time I found the plants for 2 weeks of play.

Plants have some weird limiting code so they don't spawn within x blocks of each other. Your levels allow for more space for them to spawn, meaning more spawn.

No they spawn in multiplayer. I usually find more in multiplayer than single. But maybe that's becasue we are rolling a large world in multiplayer.
